Bio

Bandita is a percussion orchestra founded in February 2005 basing on the model of the Brazilian Samba Bateria, which is the musical soul of the Carnival; it is usually composed of a minimum of twelve to a maximum of twenty elements.

Our repertoire conveys the joyful energy and the vitality of the Brazilian rhythms: from Samba to Rio’s Funky Samba, to Parambuco’s Maracatù and even Salvador de Bahia’s Samba Reggae.

Bandita was born as an street band and its itinerant show Bandita Street Parade has been presented at several national and international festivals.
In 2012 Bandita enriched its repertoire and created the show Bandita On Stage, including voice, guitar, trumpet, and bass. Bandita On Stage explores several musical genres, mixing them with the brazilian warmth and creating a radiant and captivating atmosphere.

BANDITA STREET PARADE

Bandita is a percussion orchestra inspired by the model of the Brazilian Samba Bateria, which is the musical soul of the Carnival. The instruments we use do not require amplification: this allows Bandita to perform in different contexts and in direct contact with the audience.
Our repertoire conveys the joyful and vital essence of Brazilian (and many more) typical percussions, warming up festivals of free performers, public events, disco nights and private parties.

The instruments we use do not require amplification: this allows Bandita to perform in different contexts and in direct contact with the audience.
The duration of the show is about 90 minutes of music (3 hours overall including breaks). The schedule of the show can be adjusted to the customer needs, by alternating the parade with exhibitions in squares or public gathering places.

About 15 musicians (minimum * 12 musicians).

BANDITA ON STAGE

The Bandita rhythm workshop is enriched in voice, guitar, trumpet and bass time. The harmony of the guitar and the melody of the voice are the perfect propellant for Bandita’s rhythmic “arsenal”, creating an explosion of sounds, rhythms and colors. The careful selection of the songs gives life to a polyhedric repertoire: it explores several musical genres, mixing them with the brazilian warmth and creating a radiant and captivating atmosphere.

The show lasts about an hour and a half and requires an appropriate amplification.
The repertoire includes about 15 international, italian, brasilian and world music songs. All songs are rearranged in a unique and exclusive way embracing the Brazilian sounds, instruments and styles, contaminated with modern sounds (rock, funky, reggae, drum & bass) and traditional folk songs from Puglia’s popular music.
